Hey Hannah here, I was born in New Zealand but moved to Australia at 15 where I did my tattoo apprenticeship for two years and Frontline Tattoo studio in surfers paradise. Growing up i was inspired by my father who is a great artist and always encouraged me to draw, which naturally led me to follow his footsteps and Pursue a career in art.
After leaving school I spent half a year working as an admin receptionist but realised very quickly this wasnt a career I was passionate about, so I left the job and spend the next two months putting together a portfolio and began looking for an apprenticeship. I was lucky enough to be taken under Rob Domberelli’s wing at Frontline studio and shown the ropes. My second tattoo I did was a dotwork skull which got a lot of attention on social media and brought me to developing my own stipples style.
In 2016 I decided 6 years of Australia was enough and I wanted to move back home. Luckily enough the first month I was back I got a message from Tri proposing an idea about a brand new studio, to which I rejected because I was poor from just moving home and the weary as to weather the studio would take off.
A week later I realised the opputunies I had passed up on and cheekily messaged Tri asking if he would take my sorry ass back. An interview was set up where I was left alone in the studio waiting while Tri got over his grudge. While waiting I thought “YOLO” and took a selfie in the studio mirror and posted on Instagram that I got the job.
Five months in and I’m so glad i have the opportunity to work here alongside talented artists. We are one big happy family. PEACE
