Hi, I’m Minnie! I grew up in Christchurch, where I began drawing and painting from a young age. In school I was very art and science focussed.
After leaving school I completed a Certificate in Audio Engineering and DJ’d for several years in Christchurch and around NZ. Throughout this time I kept my passion for art going, working on paintings and all sorts of other projects.
I moved to Auckland in 2012 and began a degree in Animal Welfare and Management at Unitec, wanting to expand my knowledge as I’ve always had a love for animals and an interest in conservation.
During my time studying I worked as a face and body painter and henna artist, and continued with commission painting and design projects.
Having also developed a passion for tattoo art and wanting to get back into full time artistic work I decided to look for an apprenticeship, and was thrilled to find a position working under Tritoan Ly at Dreamhands Tattoo studio! Here I was lucky enough to begin learning from some great artists.
Moving to Seventh Day Studio with Tritoan in January 2016 marked the end of my apprenticeship. I enjoy doing fine line work in black and grey and dotwork, with influences such as my henna background and love of animals in art. I’m looking forward to working on my realism skills and continuing to learn and develop my style further.
